Leviticus 9 — Sketch

Fire from God

Big Idea:

  • Moses tells Aaron, his sons, and the elders to prepare a bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. He also tells the Israelites to prepare a male goat for a sin offering, a calf or lamb for a burnt offering, an ox and ram for a fellowship offering, and a grain offering.

  • Everyone gathers at the Tabernacle, and Aaron performs the sacrifices and then blesses the people.

  • Moses and Aaron go into the Tabernacle. When they come out, they bless the people again.

  • The glory of the Lord appears to everyone, and fire comes from the presence of the Lord and consumes the offerings. Everyone worships.

Jesus in This Chapter:

  • I love that God himself ignites the fire for the sacrifice.  This foreshadows how Christ would give himself up. We really have nothing to do with our salvation - It’s all Jesus.
