The Courtyard Complete

Big Idea:

  • Israel builds the sacrificial altar.

  • Israel builds the washbasin.

  • Israel builds the courtyard.

  • Everything is made from the offerings Israel brought.

Jesus in This Chapter:

  • The basin was where the priests would wash before entering the Holy Place.  This was symbolic of how Jesus cleanses us of unrighteousness.

  • The altar is where sacrifices were made. These sacrifices were foreshadows of the ultimate sacrifice for sin – Jesus.

  • The courtyard had only one entrance – on the east side.  Likewise, there is only one way to enter into a right relationship with God – Jesus.
