Leviticus 2 — Sketch

Yeastless Sacrifice

Big Idea:

  • Grain offerings can be bread or flour, but it must be yeast-less.

  • Some is burned and the rest goes to the priests.

Jesus:

  • The sacrifice of bread symbolized the sacrifice of Jesus – the bread of life.

  • The fact that the bread was yeast-less was a symbol of Jesus being sinless.

  • This might be a stretch, but I think it is interesting that the priests get to have some of the bread sacrifices. It makes me think of the Last Supper when Jesus gave bread to his disciples and said “Eat this in remembrance of me.”
